We’re looking for people to join us as seasonal beach assistants, helping with our kayak and paddleboard hire operation at Goodrington Sands Beach. 

You’ll be working with a team of 1-5 people on any given day in a predominantly customer facing role, taking hire bookings, completing hire agreement forms, taking payments, giving safety briefs, cleaning equipment, setting up and packing down each day.  

Our hire operation is only open on days where conditions are safe to do so, and as such, flexibility is required as the operational hours and staffing requirements can change at short notice. 

Main Responsibilities 

• Assist the Floating and Boating operations at Goodrington South Sands: Greeting customers, taking payment, cleaning and setting up of equipment and craft, moving and loading of craft onto and off the beach. 
• Work with Reach Outdoors core staff on all aspects of the Floating and Boating operations. 
• Assist Reach Outdoors Staff in centre cleaning and activity kit cleaning duties. 
• Perform beach cleaning duties. 
• Provide informal local information to visitors to Goodrington Sands.
• Monitor clients on the water remain in our operating area  
• Be prepared to paddle out to check on customers (appropriate training will be provided) 

Contract Information 

The contract is a zero-hours contract from April – September. You will be paid on an hourly rate, which will depend on your age, as well as holiday pay. Further details will be provided at interview.  

Essential Requirements: 

You’ll need to: 

• Be aged 16 or over 

• Have good availability over July & August, including weekends (weekend work may be available from April-September) 

• Be flexible with availability 

• Have an interest in or experience in kayaking and/or paddleboarding 

• Be happy to spend your day outside in a customer facing role  

• Able to work in a team of people of varied ages. 

• Able to get to/from Goodrington Sands beach for work.
