instructor profile: Jack "boffle" W

Jack first worked for Reach Outdoors two years ago (2016) as a junior instructor, coming into the outdoors world inexperienced. However, his energy and willingness to learn along with a sense of humour that always entertained, made him a key member of the team.

In his first season with us he gained some vital qualification and experience, coasteering and paddling quals to name a few but it was Jacks Humour and passion for working with people from all back grounds that stood him apart from others.

After that first season Jack went on to gain a PGCE and gained full qualified teacher status but the lure of the outdoors was always there, we welcomed Jack back this season and thankfully his energy has only increased. He was a welcome addition to our ever-growing team of instructors and now a little older and more experienced a mentor and example for his fellow instructors.

Thankfully his willingness to learn is still ever present and this year Jack has continued to gain more outdoors qualifications and is now a lead on many of our water and land activities.

One of Jacks strongest points is his work ethic, and this is evident both in work and outside. He is a keen surfer and spends lots of his free time traveling around seeking out the best surf spots the south west has to offer. Its this love of surfing that inspired his latest project and brand https://www.bofflebags.co.uk/, a unique and ingenious design of surf day bags that’s already featured in magazines and is selling around Europe.

Jack is always smiling and bringing his style of energy to every session or activity he is a part of, offering encouragement and fun to every day and everyone. We hope he stays working in the outdoors and he is a great ambassador to a life outside. Also visit https://www.bofflebags.co.uk/ to see his creation!
